Installation.

Six caméras, à des distances et sous des angles variables, filment l’incendie (un mélange chimique produisant des flammes vertes de faible température). Les images sont envoyées à des écrans de vidéo-contrôle. Le public est invité à rester regarder les images le plus longtemps possible.

« Je voulais des flammes vertes et bleues, pour que mon incendie n’évoque rien de brûlant ni de destructeur. Il ne s’agit pas d’évoquer, comme j’ai pu le lire, le feu primordial des entrailles de la Terre. Pas plus que d’une apologie de la destruction, ni d’une dénonciation des bombardements de civils - il n’y a même pas de référence au tunnel du Mont Blanc. Je voulais des flammes vertes et des flammes bleues, des flammes apaisantes, un incendie souterrain qui fasse appel aux souvenirs, à l’intime et au silence de l'âme.»

Installation.

Six cameras, at varying distances and angles, film the fire (a chemical mixture producing green flames of low temperature). The images are sent to video control screens. The public is invited to stay and watch the images as long as possible.

"I wanted green and blue flames, so that my fire would not evoke anything burning or destructive. It is not about evoking, as I have read, the primordial fire of the bowels of the Earth. Nor is it an apology for destruction, nor a denunciation of the bombing of civilians - there is not even a reference to the Mont Blanc tunnel. I wanted green flames and blue flames, soothing flames, a subterranean fire that appeals to the memories, the intimate and the silence of the soul."
